Yumzip Technologies is looking for a Backend Developer to build, maintain and improve the backend systems powering our FoodTech SaaS platform.
You will work on server-side application logic, APIs, databases, integrations and core business workflows while collaborating with product and frontend teams.
The role is suited for a developer who enjoys building reliable backend systems, solving technical problems and working on scalable SaaS applications used by restaurants and food businesses.
• Develop and maintain secure and scalable backend applications for the Yumzip platform.
• Build and maintain REST APIs and backend services.
• Develop server-side business logic and database-driven application features.
• Work with Laravel/PHP and relational databases to deliver production-ready functionality.
• Design and optimize database queries, relationships and application workflows.
• Integrate third-party APIs and external services where required.
• Implement authentication, authorization, validation and other backend security controls.
• Debug and resolve backend and production issues.
• Improve application performance, reliability and scalability.
• Write clean, maintainable and reusable code.
• Participate in code reviews, testing and deployment workflows.
• Collaborate with frontend, product and other engineering teams to deliver complete features.
• Help improve the architecture of Yumzip's multi-tenant SaaS ecosystem.
• 2–5 years of professional experience in backend web development.
• Strong experience with PHP and Laravel.
• Good knowledge of MySQL or another relational database system.
• Strong understanding of REST API development and integration.
• Experience with authentication, authorization, validation and secure backend development.
• Good understanding of MVC architecture and software development principles.
• Experience with Git and standard development workflows.
• Ability to write clean, maintainable and production-ready code.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of database optimization and application performance.
• Experience working with third-party APIs and SaaS integrations is an advantage.
• Knowledge of queues, caching, background jobs and cloud/server environments is an advantage.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment and collaborate with a distributed team.
